Cassandra was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and received her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Psychology and Sociology from Purdue University in 2008. For several years during her studies, Cassandra worked as a respite provider for mentally and physically disabled children and adults. Cassandra relocated to Dayton, Ohio to attend the University of Dayton School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2012.

Before joining Gottschlich & Portune, Cassandra served as a Staff Attorney to the Honorable Gregory F. Singer at the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas. In addition to her traditional duties as a staff attorney, Cassandra was integral to the creation and administration of the Women's Therapeutic Court, a program designed to counteract underlying causes of addiction, such as trauma and mental illness. Through her work with Judge Singer and Women's Therapeutic Court, Cassandra has become heavily involved in the prevention of human trafficking. She is currently a member of the board of Oasis House, a trafficking-victim services agency, and is also a steering committee member of the Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force.

Cassandra is an active member of the Dayton Bar Association and serves as the chairperson for its Leadership Development Program. Cassandra has also held various leadership positions in the Young Lawyers Division and is a member of the Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court.

Cassandra and her husband, Michael, were law-school sweethearts and married in 2014. After many years of living in downtown Dayton, they moved to Oakwood, Ohio where they began married life. In her free time, Cassandra enjoys reading fiction, walking her dog, running, and spending time with her family.
